Raising A Healthy Poodle Puppy
Now that you have finally got your heart set on getting an adorable Poodle puppy, you need to make certain adjustments to your living space in order to make it puppy friendly. There are just a few things that you need to check for to make sure that the adjustment period for the puppy goes smoothly. First of all, you need to make sure that anything that can possibly be deadly to your puppy is removed and put out of reach or discarded.
Just like you would not leave mousetraps lying around a baby on the floor, you would not want to leave such items around a Poodle Puppy who is just as curious as any baby. Also, make sure that if there is anything that you really would get upset about if it got chewed, you need to take care of those items by putting them up and out of reach of the new puppy because one of the things that puppies love to do is chew.
Baisically, what you are wanting to do is baby proof your home or apartment but not because a baby in coming but yet a little precious puppy who needs your love and guidance to help them understand their new house rules.
A good thing to do before your Poodle puppy comes home is to already have a good idea about what your training plan of action is going to be. You will want to start training your puppy right away in order to save things such as your carpet or your furniture. Make a list of things you would like your new Poodle puppy to learn and then figure out which lesson on your list is the most important.
Also, before you can start training, you need to start thinking of names that you can call your puppy. Even though you may want to wait until you bring the puppy home before you finalize any names, you should have a basic idea of a few Poodle puppy names that can be used. And then, once you have the puppy home, it will not take as long to think of a name because it is so important that a name is given in order to begin training your puppy.
There is so much to learn once you actually have the puppy in your home and you are trying to train it. You will see that it is not as easy as the books make it seem to be but it is something that you can make it through.
One thing that is extremely important to understand is that Poodle puppies can have minds of their own and therefore there are going to be a lot of accidents. Do not let that discourage you though because once you are through the training stage, you will love the warmth and dedication that your puppy will offer you.
And you in turn, you love that puppy so much that you can never imagine letting him or her go over some silly training issue.
