The Quality Of Life And Network Marketing

In the fall of 2000 My husband and I decided to give Palm Beach, Fl a look to see what it was all about. There was no mystery to Palm Beach. He was hired at small boutique hotel on Coconut Row. I on the other hand was hired as a makeup artist at the Donald’s Maralago Spa. A story for another time.

I was missing my big bouncin’ beautiful brown-eyed boy Jackpot, my greyhound. I was researching the Italian greyhound breed and was net-working with a woman who was involved with rescuing this breed. We agreed to meet at the Boynton Beach Mall because she would be there to represent SADSAC/Save a Dog Save a Cat. I’d just missed her, so I started chatting with a rep of the rescue organization. I was describing my Jackpot and she began to describe a greyhound/pointer mix – well I was off to her crate and every volunteer was gathered around her and as soon as I saw that one and 1/2 year old SADSAC girl it was love at first site. I immediately named her Gabrielle after my fave French author, Gabrielle Colette, paid the fee and as soon as she jumped in my car, she was my forever girl. When I got her back to our cottage Richard was in the shower getting ready for work. He heard her barking and yelled out the window, “Cyd, that’s not your bark”!

In April we went back home to Maine where we are living. Gabby loved the snow so we assumed she was originally from the north and was taken and let go in Florida. Later we found out that she was alone in Florida for 1 1/2.Three times she was taken home by adoptees, but they brought her back unable to control her and make her behave.

Before Jackpot passed he and Gabri spent a full year together. Jackpot left us at the age of- 1/2 about threyears longer than most dogs live. Our animals jumped and ran all over the house. We did not try and control them. We treated them as our equal and allowed then to have fun also. We reside in a small seaside town and were prone to walk the beach during the summer. We met many people and some even became friends all because of the animals. Jackpot was very approachable and loved the attention. Gabrielle was bonded to my wife at the hip.

We put Gabrielle to sleep about one week before Thanksgiving. She was failing and suffering badly. I suspect we waited too long to make the decision. I know Gabrielle suffered, but she was a trooper. I supposed that Gabri and Jackpot are playing together where ever dogs go. When you give love to an animal they return it to you a thousand fold and they do it unconditionally. Most people want us to rescue another stray right away and we want to, but are still hurting pretty badly over Gabrielle. The next dog we adopt will be very lucky, but not as lucky as we will be. Man’s best friend is truly that.
