The best part of Open Office is the price, completely free. It’s a great choice for most users, and remains very compatible with the industry standard Microsoft Office products. There are free alternatives to Excel, Powerpoint, Word and even Access which Microsoft Works doesn’t use. The files it creates are compatible with other Microsoft Office programs. Which means that you’ll be able to send the files to other people and they’ll be able to open them normally. This is very important in this day and age of information interchange.

One way of dealing with documents that is gaining a lot of steam is Google Documents. By simply creating a Google account, you can get free access to Google Documents, and immediately start creating word and excel documents very similar to how Microsoft Office works.

Many users like the fact that while using Google Documents all of your documents are web based, which means that you’re protected from data loss on your personal computer. After losing years of work in 10 seconds when a hard drive went bad, I feel more comfortable that Google with it’s backups is a lot more likely to be able to preserve my documents.

Even though Microsoft Office is the leader in office productivity suites, there are cheaper alternatives. It’s possible to create compatible documents for others and save money at the same time.

After years of highly pleasurable gaming on your Xbox 360 it finally happens, the awful red rings of death. Those three blinking lights that spell doom for your gaming addiction. Rather than throwing the expensive brick through a wall, what are your options?

Your first option that you might think about would be to buy a brand new xbox. Now that the prices have dropped, and the console is only $299 it’s a viable option. Definitely cheaper than the first console you bought on Ebay for $600. One of the benefits of the newer versions of 360s is the addition of HDMI output. Definitely more compatible with the newer Plasma and LCD screens out there, plus it allows multiple HD inputs with the HDMI cables. Versus usually only one HD Component cable connection per tv.

Another bit of good news with buying a new 360 is that the hard drives are larger as well. Gone are the miniscule 20gb hard drives, now you can get 60gb with the Xbox basic, and 120gb with the elite. Not a bad upgrade at all.

Microsoft also claims that with the new Xbox 360s they’ve made some of the chips smaller which should reduce overheating. And it does appear that the first models that came out almost all failed while the newer versions have gotten quite good. We’ll see if they really have licked the problem.

A second option might be to try to fix the 360 yourself. There are ebooks and video tutorials on how to fix the problem yourself. Of course if you don’t have any experience in electronics then you most likely should not undertake to fix the problem yourself. However with multiple message boards and forums dealing specifically with this issue, you should be able to get going.

Third, you could send the console back to Microsoft. Microsoft will fix the problem for $140. Of course with a brand new system costing $300, that’s a tough decision to make.

Fourth, there are numerous independent repair firms, some may even be local, that can handle the repairs for you. The quality of repairs can vary widely as well as the prices. I’ve seen prices as low as $49 and some as high as $200. Also some offer 90-120 day warranties, while others offer no guarantees at all.

Regardless of what you choose, there are definitely options to getting back into the gaming world with your Xbox 360. Now, the only question is when can we get a Blue-ray drive with our 360?

Like I explained with Scyers and Firewing Signets, it is not worth it to spend a lot of time farming the lowest Aldor item, Mark of Kil’jaeden. When it comes to making gold, you can pull in much more doing Motes and Primals around level 65.

In order to cover your requirements of Mark of Kil’jaeden for quests and earlier Rep turn-ins, the best spot to farm is Terrokar. Head south from Shattrath City to the Bone Wastes. In the north and northwest areas of the Wastes; hunt the Cabal Abjurists, Cabal Tomb Raiders, Cabal Spell Weavers and Cabal Initiates. All of these are in the level 62-64 range. You will get tons of Marks of Kil’jaeden, but you are also going to be getting a ton of Netherweave and Runecloth. Both of these items will bring you in some sweet extra gold at the Auction House.

Now lets talk about farming gold big time!

The most efficient spots for farming Marks of Sargeras and Fel Armaments are in Netherstorm… as long as you are level 70 that is. You need to begin in Stormspire and shoot up north to Forge Base Oblivion and Forge Base Gehenna. There are demons here that are in the level 68-69 range and drop Marks of Armament at an extremely great rate. You need to be taking out mobs of Ironspine Forgelords, Cyber-Rage Forgelords and Wrathbringers.

In case you are a herbalist and/or enchanter, you need to go to Socrethar’s seat; the island just northwest of the Forge Bases. The bad thing about this island is that you have to use a flying mount to get there… but the positives are great! The level 70 mobs have pretty much the same drop rates as the Forge Bases, but you are going to be collecting a ton more Mana Thistle and Dreaming Glory Herbs here. They also drop a high amount of green items that you can disenchant. Keep your eyes peeled for Socrethar though; he is an elite located in the middle of the island. He does not stray far from the middle though, so you should be pretty safe.

If you go about it efficiently in the Netherland spots, you will be able to pull in about 3 Fel Armaments and roughly 30 Marks of Sargeras an hour. These stacked with the rest of the loot, the herbs and disenchants… you will easily be pulling on 100g per hour.

Another great spot to farm Mark of Sargeras and Fel Armaments is the eastern side of Blade’s Edge Mountains. To the south, near the inside of Death’s Door, you will find level 68-69 demon mobs like Death’s Might, Deathforge Technician and Death’s Watch. These will drop you some Mark of Sergeras at 25% and Fel Armaments at 2%… not too shabby.

Towards the north of here, at Forge Camp Anger, you are going to find tons of Doomforge Attendants and Doomforge Engineers, level 67-68. These fellas have a bit higher drop rates for the Aldor Rep Items than the Deathforge Mobs, but they are a bit tougher to kill. For the engineers, this is the only place you can get the very rare Bind of Pickup Schematic for Felsteel Boomstick… which of course is very handy for leveling up your engineering skill past 360. Doomforge Engineers are the only ones that drop the Schematic.

Boy have computers come a long way. I can still remember my first computer, with the 12″ bulky monitor, and the huge boxy computer frame, with the external floppy disk. However, here in 2008 things are different.

If you still have a bulky monitor connected to your computer, now may be the time to upgrade to an LCD monitor. The new models of LCD monitors take up less space, with a larger display and seem to be getting cheaper by the day.

First off, the new LCD monitors take up a lot less space than a normal monitor. While still having the same viewable area, they are about 10-20% as deep as older CRT monitors. Giving you a lot more desk space without the huge hog of a monitor.

Second, they are cheaper now than ever before. Just this past weekend I saw a special for a behemoth of a monitor, 22″ for $189. Gone are the days when LCD monitors were double to triple the price of a normal monitor.

Third, the screen sizes are increasing. With older CRT monitors 19 inch monitors were absolutely HUGE, they weighed almost 100 lbs and took up a ton of space. Now, it’s not uncommon to have LCD monitors 22-27 inches, and even increasingly two monitor setups.

Fourth, the quality is there like never before. 10 years ago when LCD monitors first started coming out, they were slower than normal monitors. The monitor would get really blurry during movies, or any graphic intensive action. Now, they have much faster response times and the quality of the picture is much better than it ever has been before.

Fifth, many newer computers and newer graphic cards assume you’re using an LCD, hence they only have a monitor connection port which connects to an LCD. In this way normal monitors are being phased out, slowly but surely.

Because of these five reasons it makes more sense than ever to upgrade to an LCD monitor. Keep an eye on the Sunday specials in the paper, as often you can find discounts of 20-30% on select models. By upgrading to an LCD monitor you have the opportunity to step into the new era of computer displays.

The main area that Firefox outweighs its competitors is in its customization. The browser offers a tremendous amount of great enhancements, both aesthetic- and performance-based. Just ten years ago it was very difficult to produce videos with any sort of creative flair. Now with more powerful computers, it’s become even easier for the layman to create Hollywood style videos. Of course in many cases the computer you are using will dictate how easy it is to create videos. If you are using an older computer, you might be bogged down while trying to create videos. Fifth, you’ll want plenty of storage space. A large hard drive is essential as many video files end up quite large. You’ll want to make sure that you have plenty of space so that you won’t run out of hard drive space in the middle of a large video production.
