Chemical pallets are offered nationwide by chemical pallet manufacturer Compliance Packaging International Ltd under the license number CP-984. CPI also delivers used chemical pallets to companies wishing to reduce pallet costs.
The chemical pallet type was originally developed for use by the European Chemical and Plastics Industries to harmonize industry standards.
Today chemical pallets are used in many industries for the value of having harmonized sizes and standards as well as having a returnable exchange value in Europe at their end of life in the supply chain.
Some users refer to chemical pallets as CPs or CP Pallets. Chemical pallets come in nine different design types and sizes.
The most common CP Pallets found in the United States are the CP3, CP1, CP2, CP6, CP9, and CP8 pallets.
Like other packaging types, users have to consider two factors when choosing a chemical pallet for transport. First, how will the pallet be handled in the supply chain? Will the pallets be racked or floor stacked? Second, users have to determine what type of packaging will ride on the chemical pallets in transport. Chemical and plastics companies generally move their products using boxes, drums (plastic and steel), bags or supersacks.
CP 1 pallets and CP 6 pallets are best suited to carry boxes and sacks.
American export firms sometime use CP 2s instead of euro pallets when shipping goods to Europe because they are the same size 800 x 1200 mm.
When transporting super sacks and large drums, users can choose between the CP 3 and CP 9.
The Chemical Pallet 8 (CP8) is used solely for shipping supersacks.
